By The Sea

On a hill overlooking the Halifax harbour and city, one will find The Halifax Citadel, an important National Historic Site in Canada. Equally historic is Pier 21, a waterfront museum highlighting the Canadian immigation story. There's also the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic, which not only features the Royal Canadian Navy and the Canadian Merchant Marine, but also popular shipwreck exhibits (including the Titanic) and the 1917 Halifax explosion.

Nearby is Fisherman's Cove, a classic tourist destination.

Parks

When it comes to Halifax parks and gardens, nothing beats the vast greens of Point Pleasant Park. Also look out for the Halifax Public Gardens, found at Spring Garden Road Park and South Park St. Park.
