The West Edmonton Mall is hailed the largest indoor shopping and entertainment centre in North America, with close to a thousand shops, as well as the Galaxyland amusement park, the World Waterpark, an IMAX theatre, a flamingo wading pool, a skating rink, a casino, mini golf ranges, and the list goes on. Both Chinatown and the Europa shopping district are in the vicinity for maximum retail therapy.

In old Strathcona you'll find a farmers' market that is open all year round. Along Whyte Avenue there is a wide array of independent shops--aside from mainstream clothing brands--local businesses thrive here.

The Avenue of Nations, found northwest of downtown along 107 Avenue, has a wide array of shops from various nations, including but not limited to China, Vietnam, Poland, Ukraine, Italy, Japan, and Latin America.

The city centre caters to the more luxurious shoppers with the City Centre Mall East and West, the Manulife Place, and Commerce Place, all carrying top designer labels. Also in the area is the Sunterra Market.
