Education

Calgary has five major public colleges including the University of Calgary, Mount Royal College, SAIT Polytechnic, Bow Valley College, and the Alberta College of Art and Design.

Private colleges include Ambrose University College, St. Mary's University College, and DeVry Career College.

The city is home to Lord Beaverbrook High School, the largest high school in Western Canada. It also has a number of unique institutions such as the National Sport School for aspiring athletes.

Transportation

Calgary International Airport can be found in the city's northeastern quadrant and is the fourth largest airport in Canada.

The Canadian Pacific Railway has its headquarters in Calgary. The Trans-Canada Highway also passes through the city.

The city's own transit systems include the Calgary Municipal Railway and the C-Train, which you can ride for free downtown.

Health

There are three major hospitals in Calgary: the Foothills Medical Centre, the Peter Lougheed Centre, and the Rockyview General Hospital. Other notable medical institutions include the Alberta Children's Hospital and the University of Calgary Medical Centre.

Media

The two major newspapers in the city are the Calgary Herald and the Calgary Sun. FFWD is a free weekly newspaper published by the Great West Newspaper Group.

Notable radio stations include CHQR and CJSW (University of Calgary radio station).
